Research Corner: Devereux Scales Go International!

green-28622_640[1]Throughout the world, there is growing interest in fostering the resilience of children.  As part of this trend, there is also growing interest in the Devereux Scales.  By the end of 2013, the Devereux Scales will be in use in six of the seven continents.  (We still don’t have a user in Antartica!).   Recently we entered into an agreement with Hogrefe, a major assessment publisher in Europe to translate and publish the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment for Preschoolers, Second Edition (DECA-P2) into Italian, and the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) into both Italian and Dutch.  Our assessments are also being translated into Arabic, Turkish, Polish, German, Japanese and Chinese as part of university-based research programs.  And, of course, all of our assessments are available in Spanish.   It is very gratifying to know that our work is receiving international attention and that you, as a DCRC colleague, are part of an international effort to promote the healthy social and emotional developmental of children. ~ Written by Paul LeBuffe, Director, Devereux Center for Resilient Children ~
