4. United Way of Greater Cincinnati
For the past two and a half years, DCRC has partnered with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) in an innovative project designed to measure and promote the social-emotional competence of children in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. The UWGC is leading this collaborative partnership involving 22 after-school, youth development, and prevention/intervention UW agencies. The project has brought the agency partners together into an ongoing learning community in which members share their DESSA-mini results, ideas, and efforts to promote the social and emotional competence of the children and youth within their programs. Results from the first two years of the collaboration have been very positive. Listen here to an interview about this study conducted by Cincinnati’s 91.7 WVXU radio station, with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati Community Impact Director Patricia Nagelkirk and Bill Bresser, director of Kentucky Operations for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati.
